Anti-equality legislator group’s second target
DENVER--Today Fight Back Colorado, a campaign to remove from office the legislators responsible for killing civil unions, announced its second target: Rep. Cindy Acree. Last week Fight Back Colorado announced Rep. Robert Ramirez as its first target.
“We are going after Rep. Acree for her ‘no’ vote on civil unions. The day she used her power as an elected official to make sure families like mine would be treated unfairly is the day she set herself up to become a target,” said Roger Sherman, Fight Back Colorado treasurer.
Today Fight Back Colorado unveiled its first mailer targeting Acree, “A zebra can’t change its stripes,” which details why she is one of the most extreme conservatives in the legislature.
The mailer details Rep. Acree’s votes against women and families, including allowing big insurance companies to deny treatment for autism, and supports a law banning all abortions – even in cases of rape and incest.
“We’ve had enough. Every elected official responsible for killing civil unions deserves to lose their seats. Our legislature is no place for so-called leaders who actively vote against fairness and equality,” Sherman said.
Fight Back Colorado’s mailer will drop in Acree’s district October 2nd. You can view it here.
